centerboard cable connections

Postby Guest » Tue Jul 29, 2003 8:59 am

The cable located on the top of the c/b trunk snapped off. If you were able to obtain any instructions on accessing the cable connections, diagrams, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. I just purchased the boat and don't have a clue how to access the connections or how to rig the c/b connections. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe Craig Warminster PA

I'd suggest giving Rudy Nickerson at D&R Marine a call, (508)644-3001. He is basically "Mr. O'Day Parts" at the moment. I have a diagram that theoretically shows what you need, but it is based on the DS II not the DS III, so may not be exact.

Removing the centerboard to access the cable is not overly hard, the centerboard pivots on a plastic pin that is held in by a pair of wedges that are in turn held in by a pair of stainless steel plates that are attached wit hscrews to the outside of the boat, one on each side of the CB slot. Rudy has the lifting cable as a pre-made unit.
