The following note was sent from the regatta chairman to the Day Sailer Board of Directors on 3/19/14:
--------
From Bob Gaffney, Regatta chairman:
DSA Board Members

Due to all the snow days this winter, I am asking the DSA Board to consider running the Junior NACR after the NACR racings on Wednesday June 25 and Thursday June 25 in the early evening. Sharon Public Schools are now going until June 24. So the dates we have in the current NOR will not work. Several board members saw this as a better option than having it after the NACR had ending on Friday. They felt that the participants would not want to stay for a Saturday, Sunday morning Junior Championship. Please let me know ASAP what your vote on this matter so that a can revise the NOR. Thanks!
-------

The DSA board subsequently approved this request by e-mail and the Notice of Race has been modified:

Massapoag Yacht Club has links to registration forms and other documents:

The registration forms are available on this site also at:

http://www.daysailer.org/daysailer/14NACR/DS_JR_NACR_2014_Registration_Form2.pdf
Important NOTE! If these forms vary from those found on the Massapoag Yacht club site, the ones on the MYC site will be considered correct!

Not sure if this is place to do it, but I'm looking to crew for someone at the NACR this year. My dad and my brother will be racing our DS (3366) and I'd like to get in on the action! I've raced in four DS NACR's before (Richmond-2004, Sharon-2006, Eugene-2008, Stage Harbor-2009), though I'll admit it's been a long time since I've been in a Day Sailer. If you're looking for a crew, or know someone who is, let me know!

The North Americans are a couple of weeks away and are being held about 50 miles from my house. Although I have a competitive Daysailer, old age has caught up to me and I just don't have the stamina for such a long race series. But I've volunteered to help out and should be there everyday. I hope to meet some of you that I only know through this web site.

Well, I just came back from two days at the Massapoag Yacht Club helping the club get ready for the 2014 North Americans. This is a beautiful location for the NAC's. I helped with the measuring process which involved lifting the boats off their trailers, weighing them, checking the rudder and centerboard profile and dimensions, measuring the mast, boom and spinnaker pole. I was surprised to see that some of the boats were actually under weight and weight had to be added. I learned a lot about our boats and how to set them up for racing. I will certainly be making some changes in my Daysailer.
But the best part for me was meeting and talking to some of the best racers in the country. The are not only extremely friendly, but very willing to share their expertise on racing.

Roger it was a pleasure to finally meet you in person!
A well deserved Thank You to the volunteers, members of MYC as well as the local DS & Flying Scot Fleets that went out of their way to run an outstanding regatta!
Even though the wind blew out of just about every conceivable direction the PRO and his RC were able to get off eight races for the seventeen DS present with four races on Wednesday, three on Thursday and one on Friday.
Junior DS NACR's went off without a hitch for the seven Juniors present with three races each on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Those of us that pulled double duty skippering in the morning and afternoon then crewing in the evenings were dragging by the time the sun was setting but all of the Juniors did a fantastic job in tougher conditions than the adults faced earlier in the day!
All in all a great regatta!
Start making plans as 2015 DS NACR's are to be held at Chatham Yacht Club on the Pleasant Bay area of Cape Cod, MA. sometime around the middle end of July?
