Postscript to this discussion. My wife says she is going to mount a chalkboard on the bulkhead and keep me in from recess so I can write, over and over:

I will not beach on a lee shore.

I will not . . . . etc.

I have that chalkboard, only with the addendum "and expect any assistance beyond being laughed at when trying to push the boat against the wind far enough out to get in and underway before getting blown back to shore."

It's a very large chalkboard.
