Small/Friendly Yacht Club in New Haven, CT area?

My wife and I recently inherited my dad's 16' Daysailer ii, and are looking for a nice Yacht Club in the New Haven, CT area to sail at during the season and winter at as well. We're happy to have it dry-docked during the season and put it in each time we go out, or to have a small mooring; whichever makes the most sense for the club and is reasonably priced. Most importantly, we're looking for a casual, laid-back club that doesn't look down on smaller boats and greener sailers like my wife and myself. I've been sailing since I was a kid with my dad and have a lot of experience on boats, but my wife is just starting out, and this will be both of our first boat, so new stuff all around.

Thanks for your help!

I'm unfamiliar with the area, and it seems that nobody with local knowledge has responded.

Try West Haven. Was there recently by Light House Park. A couple of marinas are nearby. The park has a very nice ramp and some big protected water to sail on. Check it out on google-earth.
