My wife found this book the other day in our personal library. She got it for a birthday present when she was about 14, because she wanted to learn how to sail. Looks like a DSII on the cover, and there's a DSI inside in the "Daysailer" section. My sail number is 847

Nice coincidence, since that's what we've ended up with.

The book is copyright 1964 and 1974.

Nice find.

I like the caption under the inside pic. Says the cockpit will accommodate 6-8 people. Were people smaller back then ? :lol:

Max I've had my boat has been 6, but half of them kids in that case. Otherwise 4.

Interesting - they reproduced the cover in 74 with a DSII but faithfully re-staged the shirt colors(!), sailing angle and much of the seating positions (except the helmsman sits on the bench seat in the original).

If they restaged the cover in 2011, I suspect the passenger would be to windward, and a visibly active member of the crew.
