If you're serious about making such a list, you might want to coordinate it with the Day Sailer Association's membership directory. There are tons of boat-owner listings there, many for members who haven't gotten on the forums yet.

If we get a decent list I could move it off the forum and make it a link from the menu.

I'd suggest that people send their info via Private Message to PromptCritical instead of continuously extending this thread.

First DaySailer II was built by O'Day, sail number 8280. We sold it in 1980.

We just acquired our 2nd DSII, hull #XDYD8814M78C, sail #8814.

List of DS 1's

Greetings

Are you still creating a list of DS 1's? If so, you can add mine:

O'Day Daysailer 1
Hull # 15843
Class # 1815
Name: Cheez-it II

Owner: Mike Haley
Place: Traverse City, MI

I just bought this 1968 O'Day and it is in great shape, having been stored for the last 20 years or so. There are no numbers on the sail. Maybe you can tell me why that is. They look like the originals. If I get new sails made up someday, should I use the Class # (1815)?
Thanks.

Just hopped on here again. Haven't been sailing much as other things have taken over my time.

I'm still a bit fuzzy on the hull vs. class vs. sail number. My sail number is the 4-digit number in the middle of my hull number. Other people have different numbers...

Anyway, updating...

To help with ID, I uploaded a few photos. I've sailed catamarans in the past and am completely new to daysailers. The boat does measure 16' 9" long (bow to stern)
Thanks for any help.
