#2772. Officially named "Riddled". The deck and cuddy are so full of holes from rigging and fittings that ahve been installed over the years by the previous owners and which I subsequently removed. It even has red & green Running Lights on the side of the cuddy as well as the white stern running light. My wife likes them and thinks they add "something" even though don't work. Unofficially called "BUBBA" which is short for Butt Ugly Blue Boat Ahead! At least a half dozen different shades of light blue on the exterior after wet sanding, polishing and waxing the bottom. I even found the original white waterline that was covered over.

Hi,

This is Ray from Salt Lake City. I made a mistake with sail ID, it's actually 3533, and I have checked the registration - the year is 1968. Hope I didn't confuse anyone out there with similar ID number and model ear.

Thanks,

Ray

Please be advised I sold my daysailer, 1973 DS1 #6872. When able please remove my name as the owner of this boat. The new owner has already posted in relation to the boat, so I think it is ok to say it is 'rnlivinston'.

Thanks.

1973 DS 1 Sail Number 6872 Worcester, MA

I used your list to suppliment my new list. I'll send you a copy as soon as have more information. I'm focusing on the DS 1 since that is where the biggest gaps are. I'm interested to see what is the last DS1 made by O'day. I know mine is close. Interestingly, I sailed one of the first Day Sailers in 1957 on Quincy Bay, Quincy, MA.

The owners of DS #8 were in Columbus for the NACR. (Their boat was not, although they used the sails from that boat.) The boat itself is in Muncie IN.

Just purchased DS #4493, a 1972 vintage DS-1 named "Idylwild." Just got back in from my best sailing day ever! She really goes well in light lake breezes, but this morning was windy and gusty and simply awesome! Had one rail or the other solidly in the water for almost three whole hours this morning, what a blast! We love this boat!

We're on Long Lake, Maine.

Congratulations! I seriously considered playing hooky today because it really was perfect sailing conditions here, as well. These boats really are great fun! Welcome aboard and keep posting. We all enjoy talking DaySailer's.
