Check out my boat cam!

I put together a system to record video in the cockpit.
Go to:
http://www.bobhunkins.com/surprise/archive/000509.html

You will want to mute the sounds - too noisy. Not sure what I'll do about that yet.

The system is open-loop. I only see what I got after I shut the thing down and download the video to a computer... no video screen in the system. Yet.
The system consists of an outdoor "bullet" or "lipstick" camera connected to a small security system video recorder that writes the data to an SD card. The camera is powered by a 12V battery made up of 8 D-Cells. Recorder runs off of two AA's.
Recorder and battery are housed in a pelican box stowed in a convenient place.

I have some more video I plan to post later. Eventually I hope to come come up with something more interesting that two guys moving back and forth across a boat... any ideas for camera views are encouraged.

SURE, Lollipop still has her winter coat on, you and Kathy are out playing on the water, in the sun.

Looking really good Bob. Nice work on the post and also the sailing looks pretty competant  too.

Bryan, my son, just bought 2969. mostly stock.

Say hi to the Admiral in the front of the boat from me and Bonnie.

Hi Bob,
I tried to watch your video but nothing comes up when I click on the link other than a "map" that shows your course. Do I need a special video player on my pc? What am I missing?

Gary, it's hosted via You Tube, so if you can see videos there it ought to show up.
