Dagger Board

Postby EagleWings717 » Fri Sep 16, 2005 11:02 pm

I am looking for a dagger board for my 1974 Chrysler Pirateer. Can anyone tell me the best place to find one?

Thanks!

This board is particular to the "Day Sailer" class boat, so I doubt we can help you, but you might try this site:

Dagger board Chrysler Pirateer

Postby steve50 » Mon Nov 06, 2006 10:51 pm

We bought a Chrysler pirateer in the spring - great little boat. The dagger board had seen better days and after looking at possible substitutes from other boats, I ended up making my own dagger board. Two pieces of marine 1/4 inch mahogany expoxied together and then shaped first using a jigsaw and then a wood plain - finished with 100 then 300 grit sandpaper. Took me about 1 week. Stained and applied nice varnish - looks better than the orignal. Cost me about $200 in supplies.
