Hey all:

Up here in the frozen north (Spokane, WA) I've been jonesing for a sail. I managed to hornswaggle my family into visiting San Diego the week before Christmas. We stayed at a resort on Mission Bay, and I got in three good days of sailing: two on a Catalina 14 and one with the family on a Capri 22.

I thought that would be enough. But no. Now that we've been back all of five days I've got it even worse. The sailing books I got for Christmas don't help, either. I stand in the kitchen, looking out the window at DSI #1653, wrapped up in a tarp, mast appropriately supported, under a blanket of wet snow, and remind myself it's only...

five months...

until Memorial Day.

You can do what we do here in the frozen north (Minneapolis, MN) and go iceboating. It's just as addicting...and 10 times faster. Mike
