Finally Got A Motor!

Postby MarcCram » Sun Jun 03, 2007 11:01 pm

Another addition to "This Old Boat"
So after finding a British Seagull Century (4hp) on Craigslist way up in North , North, North Jersey and driving 2 hours to get there (yeah 2 hours is far in New Jersey! Heck I could be in Washington DC or NYC in 2 hours!). I purchased a 1957 Century 100. It is the bigger 102cc block, and should have enough power to get us in against the Delaware River tides.

Here's a picture, she'll be cleaned up once I get a manual and read up on what I should and shouldn't do.

IT RUNS!!!!!

Now I need to get the darn boat in the water!

Cheers!

http://www.saving-old-seagulls.co.uk/

there's also a furled sails podcast (#84) that talks to the owner of this site.

If you don't subscribe to the furled sails free podcast, you're really missing out. it's especially great during the winter or anytime you can't go sailing. It's on itunes or on their website www.furledsails.com. Great introduction to the joys of sailing and cruising.
