Waterline location for bottom paint

Postby Guest » Wed Apr 05, 2000 12:00 am

Just bought a 1979 Daysailor II. I'm going to keep it in a marina slip for the season, so will need to put bottom paint on it. Can someone tell me about where tha waterline (top of bottom paint) should be located...like how far down from the toop of the transom at center and from the top of front deck at point of bow?

Thanks

Steve, I'll measure my boat next weekend and let you know! For an estimate (visual) in the mean time, check out the pictures of my boat in the "photos" section of this web-site, and on the "O'Day Owners Unofficial Web-Site".

OK, OK, so I said that I'd post this info 12 months ago.......sorry for the delay everyone!

I measured my 1979 Day Sailer II today, the waterline (top of bottom paint) is 26" down from the hull/deck seam at the bow, 18" at the chainplates, and about 15" at the center of the transom.
