Can anyone tell me how much the Day Sailer weighs? I'm preparing to put a hitch on, but all I know is that the trailer weighs 250 lb.

Thanks,

Avery

Day Sailers generally weigh between 575 lbs (minimum allowed for racing) and 600 lbs. This doesn't include sails or any misc, removeable stuff you carry. The early plank seat models and the later double-hull models (Rebel, Spindrift, Precision, McGlaughlin) tend to weigh slightly more but should still be under 600 lbs, and with racing mast and blades they can reach the class min as well.

One more comment. A very important weight that many overlook is the trailer's tongue weight. It is important that your trailer has a tongue weight between 10-15% of the total trailers weight. This is around 900 lbs for most rigs, so the tongue weight should be between 90 and 135 lbs.
