Sail Number?

Postby hectoretc » Mon Sep 05, 2011 9:49 pm

I was reading the daysailer.org membership info and decided to join up, but the application asks for my Sail Number. I've seen that term a number of places in these forums, but not sure what it means. My poor sad DSII came to me without a sail (or rudder) and therefore has no sail number...

Are there opportunities for those of the unknown sail number category out here? My Ident tag (different than most of the ID #'s I've read about) is on the inside of the transom, a metal stamped tag that says "Built by the O'DAY Company, Fall River Massachusetts, Hull No. 3115 Class No. 6127.
Does that decode to Sail # 3115?
Thanks,
DS #6127 - Breakin' Wind - From the land of 10,000 lakes, which spend 80% of the year frozen it seems...

That tag means your sail number (aka class number) is 6127. That's the one you would enter in the application.
