Check out this boat on Craigslist. It is advertised as a DS II, but is obviously a DS 1. But the strangest part is the HIN Number which indicates it is a 1976...3 years after O'Day stopped making the DS 1.

We live in a duplex with not much land. My wife would murder me if I brought home another boat. My oldest son just joined the sailing club I belong to, so I gave him the 1966 Daysailer 1 I just restored. One less boat in the yard.

Ha. Wives and boats. I've been hearing "but we have 5 boats" from my wife for awhile now. It's true, but there's a reasonable explanation. In order of acquisition over the last 10+ years, a canoe, a 17' aluminum fishing/hunting/family boat, a $50 sunfish, a great deal on my 1976 DS II to have a family sailboat, and recently a 14' aluminum river boat/rowboat that I was more or less given. What am I supposed to do? They were all great deals (save the new canoe purchase), they all have a use, and they all get used - not as much as I'd like, but enough to justify their existence.

Hopefully someone else here gives that boat a new home and can solve the mystery.

At least your five boats aren't that big.

Maybe that DS1 was built up with a left over deck that may have been in storage or the hull went was sent to whoever took over the production of the DS1.
