The paperwork says that it is a 1960 O'Day Day Sailer, but the pictures and descriptions of I/II's that I have seen don't match what I have exactly. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if any additional pictures would help.
The HIN is a hull identification number issued by the state of Rhode Island - presumably to a boat that did not have an manufacturers plate or HIN. If RI registered that boat with a state issued HIN, but then listed a manufacturer, that name would most likely be based on whatever the then owner declared. Not the first boat with demonstrably mistaken entries in state papers.
The 'date' is 04/60, which matches the idea of it being (presumed) to be a 1960 boat when that number was assigned. But it does not look like a DS1 from that year.
I'm thinking that it might be some other sailboat model entirely, perhaps a DS clone. The scalloped cuddy opening and the intricate support beams under the deck are something I do not recall ever having seen on a DS.
Pictures showing the transom (both inside and out), bow and or side view might help.
