Looking to get a small, collapsable cooler that fits well in the cooler compartment that we can take on and off with us, any amazon/etc. suggestions that people have purchased and like? Thanks!

Different models of DaySailer have different places that fit a small cooler, so you might want to specify your model and/or give the dimension of your cooler compartment to increase the chance that you get recommendations.

The old DaySailer I have a compartment in the transom that has a separate drain to the outside (and a lid, or, given the age of these, mostly a space where a lid once existed and could be fitted again). That space can simply be filled with a bag of ice and then make a very nice cooler for a single-day trip. (For many boats this doubles as the motor well, so your mileage may vary).

Some (all?) DSII have a compartment under one of the seats that doesn't have a drain, but also could be filled directly with ice to make a cooler - except you'd have to manually bail it after use. If memory serves, that space is smaller than the one on the DS1.

We've got a DSII from 1984 that has a cooler compartment on the forward port side bench, right below the jib block. Looking for a cooler we can slip in and out that fits well so we don't have to dump a bag of ice in each time and bail it out, and can keep things cool on the ride over to the YC.

Sorry, should have clarified specifics earlier!

Never inserted a small cooler in the seat cooler area. I would imagine that a small collapsible 6-pack cooler would work. Might be able to get a slightly larger one in there. Measure the area (and opening) and go to a place that sells small collapsible coolers with a tape measure. Ordering one on line, you may end up with something that won't fit.
