Drain plug "ball"

Postby Guest » Sun Jun 01, 2003 8:45 pm

My Daysailer III is missing the little "ball" in the drain plug. Heck of a leak without it! Does anyone know where I can get one or what the diameter of the ball is? I assume any ball that floats of the right diameter would work? Right? Wrong?

Thanks.

I had to replace the rubber bailer plug on my DS3. I ordered a new one from APS (www.apsltd.com). They sell replacement bailer balls also.
Layline (layline.com) sells them as well.

Note, the bailer is the same as what is used on a sunfish (at least it is for my O'day DS3).

Hope this helps,
Mark

I'd be curious to find out how the orginal ball fell out. Mine has a rubber seal in the top of the tube that along with the top nut appears to keep the ball inside. Yes, the DS II and III bailer is the same as the one used on the SUNFISH, well....almost! The DS bailer has a longer threaded pipe (the tube) than the Sunfish Bailer. That is the only difference, but is important! The Sunfish bailer will not be long enough to use on the DS II or III.
