Good summary!
My very next boat purchase will be one of those round flag charts to stick in the boat.
It was a bit frustrating to be lost on the course

. Binocs and charts will assist me! Also MuCH more confident in no engine... Will leave the battery and motor in truck next time.
I am STILL sore

. Extra crew would have been very good. In those winds I was overpowered even with the straps and my entire body hanging out. I did play with my wimpy vang the second day and understand a bit more about controlling the top of the sail with it. Also I am moving the jib cleats back to the angled flats on the cb trunk. At high heel I was having a hard time un cleating the jib..... This is bad because my jib makes enough power to drag the bow down enough to tap the boom.... And then BOOM you are over..... Sheeting and barbered in - spilling the main alone will not necessarily keep my boat upright and may actually flip you if you pop it bow down with the jib still pulling.
Lastly, am making a vinyl boot for the mast so those freaking jib sheets don't get fouled on the mast hinge. I had a heck of a time with that.
Thanks to advice from others I got over my fear of flipping and really pushed it second day. Very pleased with boat..... VERY impressed with effect barber haulers had. Watching these other guys tack and gybe their ds2s around has convinced me to sail with some experienced folks if I can get em... I was languishing after every tack.... Gybes, while terrifying, went a bit better.
The highlight for me was actually going wing in wing with the whisker deployed

. I almost caught that harpoon on the final dead run.
What a blast!
