Bottom treatments

Postby Guest » Sun Jun 28, 1998 12:00 am

Hi y'all, just bought a little O'day from a friend and was surfing around a little to see what I could find. Great site!
A little more on the bottom treatment. I'm new to this, but I think a boat sanded with 400 grit would probably be slicker through the water than a waxed boat.
This has to do with fliud dynamics. Water will stick to a slick surface more easily than a rough one...more drag! I'm not suggesting working over the bottom with a ball-peen hammer, but the fine roughness left by the 400 grit just might be faster. Mike C.
