DS turns 60

Postby Baysailer » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:14 pm

I was doing some web sailing on this cold January day (about 8 degrees here) and read the write up in the sailing hall of fame for the daysailer, which was inducted in 2003. The article showed the DS first released in 1958 meaning our DS is 60 years old this year and looking at pictures over the years greatly unchanged.

Wow, that's right, it was 1958! Amazing run for an amazing boat.

Oh, BTW, the link doesn't work - says page not found ...

That's very cool Fred! 1958 is about when I started first lusting after a sailboat. My best friend's dad would take us out on Lake Washington on their Blanchard 24. He was a good teacher and even at that young age would have us sailing the boat. My boat's a youngster at 45!
