I'm looking to get a new boom vang for my DS1, any suggestion on what type and where I should go to get one?

I use a system that has 12:1 purchase. You may not want so much.

It's made up of two triple harken blocks, one with an integrated cam cleat.
I cascaded a 2:1 to get more purchase, but for a long time I did not have that, and lived with a 6:1.

It works well for me, but it might help to know what specifically you don't like about your current system.

Tell us what you are not happy about with the traditional 3:1? there may be some suggestions we can give you. As you indicate sometimes the simplicity of the 3:1 leaves more to be desired, especially if you are looking at multiple functions such as holding up the boom, and gybe preventer. There are other porducts out there that do more. Let us know what issues this set up causes for you.
