Asymmetrical spinnaker

Are there asymmetrical spinnakers available for the DS II? If so who offers them?
Thanks
Russ

Drifter reacher spinnaker

I don't know that anyone makes an asym specifically for the DS II but this is the size of the DRS I had on my boat and it worked just fine. It was the absolute maximum size that would fit my rig.

Leech 22'-9"
Luff 19'-10"
Foot 13'-10"

Please review the Handbook for Bylaw 3, Measurements and Specificaitons. While we do not specifically prohibit an asymmetrical spinnaker (they weren't around when the DS was born!) the intention in our bylaws is a symmetrical spinnaker is to be used for racing. The max dimensions still are required to be adhered to : Head to clews 15'3", Head to mid-foot 16'0", mid foot to clews 6'0". You could probably get one fabricated but it would not be class legal.

I've never raced. Not saying I won't but I wanted one for ease of singlehanded sailing.
I appreciate the info though. Sure wish someone offered one but we have a few lofts local.

Thanks for the clarification Bob

Thanks for that clarification Bob. I wasn't thinking of keeping to class specs for racing when I was giving info on max size of the assym, only the height of the stemhead to masthead on the DS. Indeed if the plan is to use it during racing, the specs and measures document comes into play.

What I liked about this sail is that it increased your speed on those really light air days.
