My new (to me) 1985 Spindrift Day Sailer has spreader brackets which are pop-riveted to the mast. They appear a little loose. Is this the normal way the spreader brackets are attached? Is there a common retro-fit which owners recommend to take the looseness out?
Thanks!

I have a '68 DS1 and had the same problem. I drilled out the old rivet and secured it with a new aluminum pop-rivet. I think it was a 3/16"

Same here. Aluminum rivets broken - need to be drilled out and replaced. Going with aluminum so as to get around the problems of different metals not getting along. Silly metal.
