All those shrouds

Postby Melbourne55 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 6:24 pm

I have secured the shrouds for trailering at the bow. I am not in love with how I did it but this will be a short trip. Any good ways of kinkless security for the shrouds on a trailer out there? Tomorrow is the big day (first sail)

Your shrouds are disconnected at all three locations, right?

Don't leave the side stays connected to save time, as it's a fairly quick removal and reattach.

I bundle mine along the length of the mast with short bungies or velcro strips.

The boom goes in the cockpit, the mast lays on top, from a crutch at the transon, onto a foam pad on the cuddy, and thence to the bow, where it's bungied to the forestay chainplate.

Good luck, today. Have a ball.

Very nice sail for me but a strong wind (15-18). Not a great day to teach kids and wife how to sail. Need to work on rigging. Doesn't point well yet.
