Triangle part for centerboard?

Postby Relentless » Sun Apr 14, 2019 9:28 pm

So I am putting the boat back together so I can finally go for a test sail. I decided to not spend all summer working on the boat and do more restoration and painting in the fall and enter.
The kid I bought the boat from had taken it all apart so I am trying to get it figured out.
So where does the triangle part go?
Is the handle mounted at the correct position?
I installed the black rubber washer, there was a new on in a box of hardware.

You will not have much joy with this configuration. :P

But not all is lost: The handle points up when the CB is up. The little triangle fits on the forward bottom screw, inside the plate, and with the thick part sticking out forward a bit so you can reach it. It's a kind of "ratchet" that engages when the handle is up to make sure the CB doesn't deploy while you launch your boat. To disengage, you flick it up while moving the handle.

That still leaves two orientations for the triangle, i.e. which side faces the CB, and I can only tell you to try both because I don't remember.

Good luck.
