I am contemplating buying a 94 Daysailer 1 to sail in my lake up in Maine and wanted to know whether I will have any problems keeping the boat on a mooring all summer long. Every review I have seen of the daysailer complains about leakage in CB mechanism but these were mostly older models. So I wanted to know whether it will still be an issue in the 94 and whether keeping it at a mooring for a lengh of time could cause permanent damage. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello fellow Mainer ! I would ask the owner if there are any known leaks. Then after give it a practical leak test. The newer boats don’t usually present a problem unless they have been damaged in some way. You are fortunate that the cockpit is self draining.
As long as the mooring is secure the boat should survive the other weather elements. If it will be left unattended for long lenghts of time consider asking someone to check in on it.
My old DS1 is now a trailer queen but has spent considerable time moored in rain and waves using a automatic float bilge that never failed.
Where is the lake you mentioned ? Brad

Thanks for your thoughts. I am actually looking at it from Northeast Sailboat Rescue in Freeport so I do not have the benefit of speaking directly with the owner. Apparently the guy who owned it previously did not have it in the water the past few years.
We are planning on sailing it in Great Pond in Belgrade, where are you located?
